Just before I went back home, I spent Christmas 1995 and the New Year in Dahab, Egyptian Sinai with friends who were also working in Eilat. I took absolutely no photos while in Dahab - damn! But thanks to Alex here's some photos from 2013 & 14 below.

There's several restaurants with rustic al-fresco dining on the shoreline - Dahab

It's a great place to do nothing, lying on restaurant cushions and eating constantly. Proper laid back! However it sounds like upmarket hotels have arrrived since I visited over 20 years ago - Dahab

There's also plenty of opportunities to go diving, and windsurfing has become popular - Dahab

The attractive arch of Dahab Bay, with hills behind that eventually lead to Mt Sinai 50km inland - Dahab
